Peter T. King was born April 5, 1944, in New York City. King graduated from St. Francis College in Brooklyn in 1965 and earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Notre Dame Law School in 1968. He was a Member of the Hempstead Town Council from 1977-1981 and Nassau County Comptroller from 1981-1993. He was elected to Congress in 1992 and currently serves as the Chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee. He is also Member of Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence and the Financical Services Committee.
