Bob Gibbs was born on June 14, 1954 in Indiana. As a child he moved to Cleveland with his family, and has lived in Ohio ever since. Shortly after graduating from the Ohio State University Agricultural Institute in 1974, Bob started a successful livestock production farm in Lakeville, Ohio. In addition to his successes as a farmer and small business owner, Bob has enjoyed a career as a public servant as well. He began serving on the Board of Trustees of the Ohio Farm Bureau in 1985, and was elected to two terms as President of the Ohio Farm Bureau Federation, beginning in 1999. Since 2002, he has also served in both houses of the Ohio Legislature. Bob and his wife of 33 years have three children.Bob Gibbs won re-election in 2012 against the sole challenger Joyce Healy-Abrams, 57-43%.
