George Holding grew up in Raleigh, North Carolina. He attended Groton School in Massachusetts and then graduated from Wake Forest University in 1990. He went on to get his J.D. from Wake Forest in 1996.Holding was first elected to the House on November 6, 2012. Holding is currently serving his first term for NC 13th District.
Holding is running for re-election to the U.S. House in 2014. He ran unopposed in the Republican primary election on May 6, 2014.
Prior to his congressional career, George Holding served the Federal Prosecutor's Office in Raleigh, N.C., under Attorney Frank Whitney until he was appointed by former U.S. President George W. Bush to succeed Whitney as Prosecutor.
