While serving in the state legislature, Luke Messer served in the House Education Committee and his work in high school drop-out prevention was recognized by Time magazine and featured on the Oprah Winfrey Show. He then served on the House Ways & Means Committee. As an attorney, Mr. Messer has had experience at the federal level. He graduated summa cum laude from Wabash College and earned his law degree at Vanderbilt University. Later, Luke Messer co-founded a nonprofit organization called Child Share Indiana, which advocates for foster children.
