Paul Cook is a representative for California's 8th congressional district. He was first elected to office in 2012. Cook is former member of the California State Assembly.Cook has worked as an instructor at Copper Mountain College and the University of California, Riverside. He is a member of the American Legion, Disabled American Veterans, Red Cross, Saint Mary's Catholic Church, United Way, Veterans of Foreign Wars and former Executive Director of the Yucca Valley Chamber of Commerce.He graduated from Southern Connecticut State University in 1966 with a B.S. Cook served in the United States Marine Corps from1966-1992. He Graduated from California State University-San Bernardino with a M.P.A. in 1966. In 2000 he graduated from the University of California-Riverside with a M.A. Paul Cook served on the following committees during his term as house representative: Armed Services Committee, Subcommittee on Tactical Air and Land Forces, Subcommittee on Seapower & Projection Forces, Veterans' Affairs Committee, Subcommittee on Disability Assistance and Memorial Affairs, Subcommittee on Economic Opportunity, Foreign Affairs Committee, Subcommittee on Europe, Eurasia and Emerging Threats, and the Subcommittee on Terrorism, Nonproliferation and Trade.
