Hal Rogers was born December 31, 1937. Rogers was born in Barrier, Kentucky, attended Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green and received his A.B. and LL.B.  from the University of Kentucky at Lexington. Rogers served in the Kentucky and North Carolina Army National Guard.  Before being elected to Congress, Hal Rogers worked as an attorney. Hal Rogers was elected to Congress in 1980 and serves on the powerful Appropriations Committee.
