Jim Sensenbrenner was born on June 14, 1943 in Chicago, Illinois. In 1965, Sensenbrenner received his Bachelor's degree in Political Science from Stanford University. In 1968, he earned his law degree from the University of Wisconsin. Sensenbrenner was a Member of the Wisconsin Assembly from 1969-1975. He was a Member of the Wisconsin Senate from 1975-1979. Jim Sensenbrenner was first elected to the United States House of Representatives in 1978.
