Martha Roby is a native of Montgomery and was a member of the CIty Council. She holds a degree in music from New York University and a law degree from Cumberland School of Law at Samford University. Before being elected to the Montgomery City Council, she practiced law at law at Copeland, Franco, Screws & Gill, P.A. Roby has opposed tax increases, led the effort for the Montgomery City Council to adopt an ordinance to comply with federal law and prohibit businesses from harboring illegal aliens. She is an active member of the Board of Directors of Sav-A-Life Montgomery, the Cleveland Avenue YMCA, the Britton YMCA, the Montgomery Area Business Committee for the Arts and the Montgomery Weed and Seed Executive Board. She and her husband have 2 children. Martha Roby was first elected to Congress in 2012.
