Senator Sherrod Brown received his BA from Yale in 1974 and his MA from Ohio State in 1981. He was a Representative of the Ohio House of Representatives from 1975-1982. In 1983, he was elected the Ohio Secretary of State, a position he held until 1991. Sherrod Brown was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 1993 and served there until he assumed his U.S. Senate seat in 2007. Sherrod Brown won re-election comfortably over state Treasurer Josh Mandel in 2012.
