Ben Ray Luján was born June 7, 1972 in Sante Fe, New Mexico. Luján earned his Bachelor's Degree from New Mexico Highlands University in Business Administration. Luján has served as New Mexico’s Deputy State Treasurer as well as New Mexico Cultural Affairs Department's director of administrative services and chief financial officer.

 

Ben Ray Lujan was elected to Congress in 2008.  He is running for the open US Senate seat in 2020 after incumbent Sen. Udall announced his retirement.
