About

Josh Hawley grew up in Lexington Missouri and graduated with highest honors from Stanford with a B.A. in History. He attended Yale Law, where he led the conservative Yale Federalist Society.

 

After attending Yale Law School, Josh was selected to be a judicial clerk for the US Court of Appeals for the 10th circuit. He subsequently earned a clerkship at the U.S. Supreme Court with Chief Justice Roberts. During this time, Hawley met his wife, a fellow Supreme Court clerk, Erin Morrow Hawley. After Hawley’s clerkships, he worked as an appellate litigator at Washington DC law firm.

 

Josh Hawley has served as Senior Counsel to The Becket Fund for religious freedom. With the Becket Fund, Josh litigated First Amendment cases before the Supreme Court of the United States, in the federal circuit courts and state courts of last resort. Hawley has also served as an Associate Professor at the University of Missouri law school.

 

Josh Hawley ran for Attorney General of Missouri in 2016. He faced Democrat Teresa Hensley in the general election. on November 8. Hawley won 58.50% of the vote to Hensley's 41.50%.
