Matt Rosendale (b. July 7, 1960) is the current Montana commissioner of insurance, state auditor. He ran unopposed for the 2016 Republican nomination, and won the general election on November 8, 2016. Rosendale is a former member of the Montana State Senate, representing District 18. He was first elected to the Senate in 2012 and served as Majority Leader from 2015 to 2017. Rosendale did not seek re-election to the Montana State Senate in 2016.

 

Matt Rosendale previously served in the Montana House of Representatives, representing District 38, from 2011 to 2013.  His professional experience includes working as a rancher. Prior to moving to Montana, he worked as a real estate professional in Maryland.
