Bruce Westerman (born November 18, 1967) serves as the Majority Leader of the Arkansas House of Representatives. He is a candidate for the United States House of Representatives to represent Arkansas's 4th congressional district, succeeding incumbent Tom Cotton who announced that he will run for the United States Senate. Westerman graduated from Fountain Lake High School in Hot Springs, Arkansas, as his class valedictorian. He attended the University of Arkansas, where he played college football for the Arkansas Razorbacks football team. He graduated from Arkansas in 1990 and received a master's degree in forestry from Yale University. He served on the school board of the Fountain Lake School District. He ran for the Arkansas House of Representatives in 2010. Bruce Westerman is married to Sharon and they have three sons and a daughter.
