Rep. Dean Phillips [D, MN-3]
District 3, Minnesota

Dean Phillips graduated from Brown University in 1991 and moved back to Minnesota, where he joined a start-up business that produced cycling apparel and equipment. He then joined his family business, where he picked orders in the ware house, worked on the bottling line, and eventually was trained as a sales representative. After attending the University of Minnesota's Carlson School on the weekends, he earned his MBA in 2000 and was promoted to CEO of Phillips Distilling Company.

Dean Phillips left Phillips Distilling in 2011 to join a small gelato business in which he had invested. Along with his partners, they built Talenti into America's largest gelato brand and one of the best-selling ice creams in the country. Phillips was elected to his seat as the House Representative for Minnesota's third district in 2018.
