Debbie Wasserman Schultz was born on September 27, 1966 in Queens, New York. In 1988, Schultz received her Bachelor's degree in Political Science from the University of Florida. In 1990, she returned to the University of Florida and earned her Master's degree in Political Science. Schultz was a Member of the Florida House of Representatives from 1992-2000. She was a member of the Florida Senate from 2000-2004. Schultz was elected to the United States House of Representatives in 2004. Schultz is the Democrat House Chief Deputy Whip and serves on the powerful Appropriations Committee. In 2011, Debbie Wasserman Schultz was selected to head the Democratic National Committee.
