Dina Titus was born May 23, 1950, in Thomasville, Georgia. After earning her bachelor's degree from William and Mary, Titus went on to earn a master's degree from the University of Georgia and a Ph.D. from Florida State University. She served in the Nevada State Senate from 1989-2009. Dana Titus was elected to Congress for Nevada's 3rd District in 2008, but lost a close race (2000 votes) to Joe Heck in 2010, before coming back in 2012 in the Nevada 1st District.
