Jaime Herrera grew up in Southwest Washington and graduated from Prairie High School where she played on the women’s basketball team. She earned a Bachelor’s of Arts degree in Communications from the University of Washington. Herrera worked in Washington D.C. as a Senior Legislative Aide for U.S. Congresswoman Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-Spokane) and a state representative for the 18th Legislative District in Washington State. Herrera Beutler was appointed to the Washington House of Representatives in 2007 and elected to that body in 2008. In 2010, she was elected to represent Washington's 3rd congressional district in the U.S. Congress where she served on the Health Care and Wellness Committee and the Transportation Committees. She is a member of the Republican Party, and is the youngest female U. S. Representative, and lives with her husband in Camas, WA.
