Rob Wittman was born on February 3, 1959 in Washington, D.C. In 1981, Wittman received his Bachelor's degree in Biology from the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. In 1990, he earned his Master's in Health Policy and Administration from the University of North Carolina. In 2002, Wittman acquired his Doctorate in Public Policy and Administration from Virginia Commonwealth University. He was a part of the Montross Town Council from 1986-1996. Wittman was a member of the Westmoreland County Board of Supervisors from 1996-2005 and was the chairman from 2004-2005. He worked in the Virginia House of Representatives from 2006-2007. Rob Wittman was first elected to the United States House of Representatives in 2007.
