Lacy Clay, Jr. was born July 27, 1956. He was elected to Congress in 2000, succeeding his father William Clay, Sr.. He graduated from the University of Maryland and attended The John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University. He served in both Houses of the Missouri State Legislature for 17 years before being elected to Congress.
