Senator
Sen. Tim Scott [R, SC]
for
South Carolina

About

Tim Scott was born in South Carolina in 1965. He graduated Charleston Southern University earning a Bachelor's in Political Science. In 1995, Tim was elected to the Charleston County Council as the first African-American Republican elected county-wide since Reconstruction. He continued that trend when elected to the South Carolina House of Representatives.

Tim Scott owned Tim Scott Allstate and was a partner in Pathway Real Estate Group. After winning two US House races, in late 2012 SC Governor Haley appointed Tim Scott to the US Senate to fill the seat left by departing Jim DeMint.  He won election to the Senate in his own right in 2016, and is up for re-election in 2022.
